DOWN ON THE FARM

Thanks to Kyla for watching Tessa, she is an excellent babysitter, the rest of us headed outside to ear tag the calves and one cow. The kids love doing this but were scared of the mom cows. They don't like it when you mess with their babies, just like humans. Some of the calves were small and we able to just hold them but one was a little larger and we had to get him in the chute. We have 11 head and then KC has a few that run with ours. Chad loves the cows.

"Mom we caught him good."

Oh please help me, what are they doing to me????

Chad and Amy putting in the ear tag

He's soooo cute and cuddly and was just born yesterday. He's a big bull calf.

THE ESCAPEE

Okay so we've had some pretty nice spring days her in Bruneau. Tessa loves to be outside. Today I was working on the farm books, yuck and Zane wanted to go outside to play. He got all ready to go. If anyone heads for the door Tessa is not far behind. So before Zane can get the door shut, out the door Tessa goes. Zane's yelling at me, "Mom come and get Tessa". I tell him to pick her up and bring her back in. Well when I get to the door Tessa is already down the stair and running across the driveway. She has no shoes on and is carrying one of Kyla's shoes. Tessa has a fettish for shoes, she's always wearing everybody's shoes around the house. I don't have any shoes or socks on and Zane says get some shoes on and come get her. I go into the house to get the camera, of course and slip on Chad's shoes. Then I proceed to walk across the yard after Tessa, who is running. I'm saying, "stop Tessa," and she just keeps on truckin across the yard to the shop. This is the picture of Zane saving her from the puppy, that jumped on her yesterday, and cut her lip. By the time I catch up to her she is clear over by the shop. I think we have an Olympic sprinter in the making.

PAINT THE TOWN (or at least the house)

Here is the low down on the house project. For those of you who don't know Chad's parents are adding a much needed addition onto the exsisting, small living room. These awesome parents raised 8 children in a small one bathroom house. Well 7 of those children are now married and parents themselves. So you can see the problem when we all get together, which we love. Love grows best in little places, so the song says, but it can grow well in larger areas also. The whole family has been helping in the addition process. We spent the last few days painting the room and putting up molding getting it ready for carpet. Here are a few pics from the painting days. Enjoy.
Claudette, Chad's sister, working on the fireplace, look how good it looks with a fresh coat of white paint. It even has Claudette dazed!!!

Shane, Chad's brother and his wife Sandy painting up the molding.

Chad's father, Doug, taking it easy after a week in the over the road truck. Glad you like the brown color.

Mother, Kaylene loving her painted walls. Notice the brown accent wall behind her, AWESOME

Rick, Claudette's husband, (and my uncle) figure that one out!!!

Chad's sister taping the windows. Great Job Angi!!!
For those of you who couldn't make it to the paint party, we missed you and knew you were there in spirit. And thanks to Chad. He stayed home and watched the kids for 3 days so I could go help. Love Ya. Kids and paint don't mix.

Valentine Boxes

Duct tape comes in handy too.
Kyla decorated it pretty fantastic.

Dallin and his USA rocket

Diaper and wipe boxes come in handy, good thing we have lots.

Kyla and mom making her "mailbox"

So as we were making these boxes, we started two days before they had to be at school, One of the kids says,"What's up with mom she's going all out and making cool stuff." "Last year all she did was staple two papers together for our boxes." My reply was,"Well it helps when you give me more notice than the night before at bed time." I'm sure this has never happened to any of the rest of you.

Daddy's Little Girl

Tessa loves her Daddy and he spoils her rotten. But I don't mind. With our other children Chad was gone all week driving logging truck and only home on the weekends. So he missed out on alot when the kids were small. He's taking full advantage of being able to work at home on the farm. I love to see him play with her and how excited she gets when he comes through the door. He's a very good dad and spends time with all the kids.

Don't you remember the great times you had as a kid playing with cardboard boxes? We had this box left over that my internet sattelite came in. Dallin and Zane decided to take advantage of it. Of course they have to include Tessa too. Dallin is always playing and wrestling with her. He's a good big brother, but sometimes gets too rough. I guess she'll grow up tough.

Basement

Progress on the basement is coming along slowly. We are almost done framing though. If I could help more than when Tess is napping then that would be good. I guess it'll get done when it gets done. Happy building. Sorry for the crooked picture, i'm new to this.

Hoop Shoot

Well we went to Blackfoot on Feb. 7th for the State Hoop Shoot. There were 30 kids at State out of 38,000 kids that participated at the other levels. So just to get to State is a big achievement. There were 5 girls in Analeise's group. She got 5th place making 6 out of 25. She shot better at Caldwell making 11 out of 25. The winner only missed 2 shots. Very tough competition. We are so proud of Analeise and this was a great experience for her. Way to go.
